Well, another successful day at Physical Therapy! Have I mentioned how much I love the RESTORE Program at Spaulding Rehab? I love it. After a MAJOR, MAJOR surgery in January, the fact that I'm even attending PT is miracle some days. Today, we kicked it up a notch. I say "we" as me and my PT boot camp supervisor. I'm just kidding about the boot camp part... well, maybe not. She's great. She had me do a little "jogging", complete with blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen monitoring. I felt like I was in a Gatorade commercial, I was expecting Lance, Tiger, Derek Jeter, and the Hulk to come bustin' in at any moment. I felt strong, I was strong! And I was jogging... wow!! 5 months ago, I was counting ceiling tiles in my hospital room. I firmly believe that recovery can be enhanced by positive thinking and affirmations. I will run, I will be strong, I will hit the stuffing out of a golf ball. Pretty simple.
At one point, I admit, I was jogging along, laughing myself silly... I started thinking about my favorite Lance commercial. When I got done laughing, I provided a quick review of the commercial to my PT... Then, it was back at it. Maybe next time, she'll feed the warrior, and make me jog carrying 20lb weights. Here's hoping we all keep living strong and laughing each day!!
I love the affirmation idea -- I can't tell you how many times I've told myself, 'I am strong' when I've felt weak!

Hi Alicia.
Just finally got to go to your site. Your comments about the PT made me laugh. Hope you are doing well and playing lots of golf (mini and grown-up). Love the video!
